Ever since the emergence of intensive high-rise residential buildings, there has been a distinct separation between indoor and outdoor spaces. Homes have become enclosed entities high above, while the city serves as a distant backdrop beyond the windows. Unlike cities characterized by rich textures, functionalities, and intricate spatial relationships, the layouts of each dwelling within these high-rises are similar, monotonously repetitive, and lacking in diversity.
In this small-scale project, the aim is to reexamine the familiar notions of tall buildings and flat ground, homes and cities, and the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. The city is introduced as a variable factor into the home, seeking to establish an interdependent relationship between the interior and exterior, making the city a shared living room within the home.
