「Format/Reform: a vision of a future home」

"Not defined,
constantly restructured,
formatted home,
capable of becoming any space."
diploma design 2020.12-2021.6

This study examines the impact of intelligent technology on the residential indoor environment from both design and sociological perspectives. Through on-site research, our project specifically focuses on the shared housing arrangement for young individuals, proposing a prototype design that emphasizes flexibility and reconfigurability of interior spaces.
By conducting in-person interviews and modeling exercises involving 20 young subjects, as well as investigating existing shared youth apartments, we identified spatial blocks of varying time scales. Drawing from the concept of the no-stop City, we utilized programming techniques to generate an initial spatial layout encompassing small, medium, and large scales. Following a period of use, this layout can be easily reset and recombined into a new home, personalized through individual settings and controlled by technology.
