Visual space has long dominated our perception of the world, with other senses yielding to
vision. Language is replaced by visual symbols, touch is enticed by clear textures of images.
We effortlessly access vast amounts of utopian visual information on screens, believing in its
authenticity, especially in the era where generative technology can create convincing illusions.
Michael McLuhan described the auditory space in "Explorations in Communication" as
follows: "It is not a pictorial space that can be contained in a container, but a dynamic space
that is constantly in flux, constantly generating its own unique dimensions." In a space not
dominated by vision, the perception and associative abilities of the body are amplified,
entering into a unique and mysterious realm.
Inspired by the film "Proof," directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse, I designed a device called the
"Blind Photographer's Viewfinder." It utilizes image recognition and artificial intelligencegenerated content (AIGC) to transform the captured world into diverse and rich expressions
in real-time. When wearing the viewfinder, the surrounding scenes lose their visual center,
transforming into poetry, natural sounds, subtle sensations, and emerging associations.
Through AI, it becomes both real and surreal, offering a new mode of interpretation..
According to the Blind Photographer's Frame project, a series of montage-style images and textual information were extracted. Additionally, using this authentic data, a collection of artificial intelligence-generated scenes were created. In this short video, a deliberate blending of real and AI-generated information was employed to collage and construct a world that exists between reality and illusion.
